A pre-employment psychological evaluation is a specialized examination to determine whether a public safety applicant meets the minimum requirements for psychological suitability mandated by jurisdictional statutes and regulations, as well as any other criteria established by the hiring agency.
An in-office appointment lasts for 2-3 hours.
Fitness for Duty Evaluations determine whether a person is suitable to return to their previous employment duties. A clinical interview which includes a medical history review is conducted along with psychological assessments.
The doctor will provide a completed report for your records along with a memo to provide to your employer, indicating if you are suitable to return to your assigned duties.
As of September 1, 2023, the Texas Department of Public Safety requires all level III/VI security officers and personal protection officers to take and pass the MMPI to receive their license.
Appointment is 2-3 hours, in-office. A completed and signed PSP-13 is issued once the officer has received a "pass" status by a licensed psychologist. A copy of the completed report will be provided by our office within 2-3 business days after the completed in-office testing.

Psychological debriefing is an immediate intervention used following a traumatic experience that purportedly helps individuals manage their normal stress reactions to the incident. Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) was designed for workers in high-risk occupations, such as police officers, disaster workers, and firefighters.

Psychological diagnostic testing is a procedure used by psychologists that helps diagnose mental illness including but not limited to ADHD, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety. It involves a series of assessments called psychological tests.

A Trained Service Animal will perform a service relative to the psychiatric or physical condition that the user has with a required prescription.
Fully-trained service dogs may fly in the cabin at no charge if they meet the requirements. A service animal is defined as a dog that’s individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a qualified individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability

As of January 11th, 2021 emotional support animals are no longer recognized by airlines and are treated as regular pets. ESA letters are NOT available for travel via airlines.
A letter will be issued, if required, upon the completion of your appointment (within 72 business hours). ESA letters will support for any housing/lodging accommodation per government regulations.
